Grey Raven puts players in control of a squad of up to three characters, called "constructs," against a variety of enemies. Storytelling is presented in a visually novel format, while combat is based on hack-and-slash action, with players fighting enemies in real time in various stages. In battle, different colored "Pings" can be obtained to trigger different skills. Linking 3 Ping of the same color will perform a powerful version of the skill. Players can also dodge enemy attacks, and successful dodging will trigger a bullet time effect, allowing players to deal extra blows to enemies. Dodging attacks will consume stamina, and players cannot always dodge freely.
Construction can be enhanced by upgrades and upgrades, as well as upgrading weapons and equipping equipment.
